As we climb the steep Iroha Hill in Nikko, passing signs that announce each of its 48 bends, we enjoy the clear autumn air and fresh green colors of Lake Chuzenji. Reds and yellows have started to appear in the mountains around the lake. Turning onto the road to Lake Yunoko past Senjogahara Moor, the air is fresh and cool, and trees are starting to take on the vivid colors of the season. All around Lake Yunoko (altitude 1500 meters), autumn colors are at their peak.
